Again writing this for yesterday because I didn't have time to write it yesterday... or I was too tired... :D
Today we are in H5, on the computers. Well not really on the computers because when Ms O'Neill came into the classroom she said that no one is aloud on the computers because we were highlighting our notes. She had told us a skill to do. Highlight our focus questions, which are suppose to be at the front of our books with the main question and highlight each focus questions as you have. For me I have 5. Then read over your notes and colour code them by matching them up with your focus questions. You drew a line next to them and that's how you tell what notices are which. She always mentioned reflections. She told us that when writing reflections you can write your opinion of the note, what the note means, dictionary meaning, corroboration and topics they are related to. For my I had a problem because I only had one highlighter, by thank God to Emily Birch who was seating next to me had her 'smelly' highlighters. But with mine and her 3 there was only 4 and I need 5. So (also thank God) to the Japanese Exchange student (don't know how to spell her name) she let me bore her highlighter. So now we have a total of 5!! Yah!! Oh dear... Nearly two people (which isn't a lot) had asked Emily to bore the purple and (of course) I need to purple the most. So every time we were bagging on who was going to have it next... it was a bit annoying. This was the first time that I asked Ms O'Neill for anything or ask her for her advise. I asked her whither I could talk about Philip II in my essay because Philip II had a HUGE impact on Alexander becoming a man and making a great king. She said yes because as I said he made an impact on Alexander's life. I was only put to my 4th or 5th page of notes that I highlighted and the bell rang. So I need to do all of my notes and take some more notes down from two books that I have.
This is a research assignment for History 2010! We have to research about Imperialism either in the Ancient World or the Modern World. I have chosen to do my research assignment based in the Ancient World during 356–323 BC... This date is the life and death of the greatest imperialist throughout the Ancient civilisation. This imperialist conquered Egypt, the Persian Empire and India. This man is called... Alexander III of Macedon or popularly known as Alexander the Great!

Reflection: 23/08/10
This reflection is for the 23/08/10 even though I'm doing it on the 27/08/10. This is because I couldn't be bothered doing it on that day.
This is our last lesson in the library to take notes from books. For me well I have just finished collecting 8 sources of books, no internet sources because I don't really want any internet sources and plus I believe that they are mostly unreliable. I'm doing well this lesson. No distractions from anyone on my table. Last lesson wasn't that good because I talked all the time because I was just sick and tired of taking down notes and plus that conversation that was going on our table was very interesting.
Again I have finished one sources notes and I'm on to my next one... Oh no!! I'm on to the ones that are from a book with no pictures, it's just a big book with lots of stuff in it... I'm so not going highlight it all and take notes from it... I think I have enough!! But I guess big books has very important information and very useful too... but I just can't be bothered!! So now what... I go look for two more books to complete my collection of 8? Or I put my head down, read this notes and take notes? What the heck I'm going to look for two more interesting books. I went in to the shelfs and I went to the area where it they keep ALL the Alexander the Great books. Ah-ah! I found two books that are REALLY thin and it looks like they have quiet a bit of GOOD and solid information. I took those books and put them over where my stuff was and then I checked if anyone who was doing Alexander the Great had any books and put them on the books for everything. There wasn't really many books on him, mainly on WWII in The Pacific and the Roman Empire. So many people are doing these topics... I was going to do The Pacific but I thought I knew some stuff about it and I wanted to do something on the Ancient World.... well actually I was in decision on whither I should do The Pacific of Alexander the Great... but then (of course) I went for Alexander the Great because I thought he would be easy. Because naturally it's on one person and you can mainly focus on that person, secondly I would be the only one doing this topic so I wouldn't be fighting over books like some of my class mates do. And lastly I found Alexander the Great very interesting and I didn't know much about him and I was quiet interested in doing the topic so I went for it.
Tomorrow's lesson I'm not going to be here because I'll be at Eisteddfod playing my non-heart out. Tomorrow the rest of the class will be on the laptops in the library and they will be looking up internet sources and doing internet things. I told Ms O'Neill about this and she said ask how many sources I had and I told her that I have 8. I also told her that I wasn't interested in having internet sources and she told me, when it's time to start writing our essay and if I don't have enough information about a certain focus question than I can look up on the internet and check for more information... so I thought that was fair request and I left it as that.

Reflection: 16/08/10
Worried about this is our last week in the library.... DOUBLE YES!! Well not really. Not that much because I've got all my notes and I've got like 7 sources which I'm so pleased about and now I need to write them in my book which is going to take a long time to do!! So I need to get to finish them RSVP!!
So far I'm happy with my progress because I have been talking to some of my friends and they have said that they only have 2 or 3 sources which is really bad because your suppose to have like about 4 or 5 sources by now and next week we're starting to head to the computer rooms, which I'm getting a little bit scared about because I don't know how to start the essay or where to go after I have finished taking notes down. But I guess that's an obvious question to ask... start writing the essay duh...!!

Reflection: 12/08/10
I haven't been doing history for a while... will I haven't been doing reflections but I have been doing work at school like taking down notes and organizing my history book.
I'm so happy this week in History because I have finished finding notes so far (because I have so much information so far and I don't think I need any more) and now I'm up to writing the highlighted notes into my history book. So that is a very exciting task!!
Today we had to get ready for Ms O'Neill who was collecting our Research Question and our Focus Questions that we need to write down and hand in to her. I didn't know what my Research Question was until I talked to Mrs Kirwin who helped me figure out what my question could be. Mrs Kirwin always helped me with coming up with my Focus Questions which I owe her a lot because without her help I wouldn't have a great Focus Questions or my Research Questions. So this lesson I am grateful for Mrs Kirwin for helping with everything!!

Reflection: 6/08/10- Stay at Home Research
Another day at school... but wait I'm not a t school. Today is the day that I feel quiet off, so enough of me and my illness lets talk History.
Today I am missing out on one of my History classes. I am working on taking notes down, finding more information about Alexander the Great and making sure my history book is up to date. Also I might finish off watching the movie "Alexander" so I can get a better understand of what he's life was like with Hephaestion and his life conquering an the Persian Empire, India and Egypt.
So far I know quiet a bit of information about Alexander so right now I can't wait to get cracking about other findings he discovered and more about how he conquered Persia, India and Egypt!

Reflection: 3/08/10. Choosing Topic
First day at home, deciding on what topic we want to do for our assignment. We have given a set of topic ideas that we need to decide on, such as in Japanese Imperialism, American Economic Imperialism, Romain Imperialism etc.
Out teacher (Ms. O'Neill) has given as a choose between Ancient or Modern History to do. She has stated that if we are doing a History next year we would have to choose between Ancient or Modern. Choosing on Ancient or Modern this year would have a great impact on what history your doing the following 2 years.
I have decided on doing an Ancient History next year, so my chose has been decided on the Ancient World.
I have looked through books and thought about what I wanted to do and I came up with two decisions.
1: Doing Romain Imperialism and talk about how Rome became the power leading country back in those days or
2: Do Alexander the Great. The Greatest conquer in the world! Conquering ALL of the Middle East (as we know it today) and defeating great numbers of battles throughout the Middle East.
So now I have to decided in what chooses I have to decided. I have looked through some books on Rome and the life of defeating and conquering the world, but I had found the spread of Romain civilisation quiet boring, so I had only chose left... Alexander the Great!
I have researched and checked his life and how he became King of Greece and how he fought and conquered great numbers of land across the Middle East and I had an idea on what my question could be, with the help of my L.E teacher... Mrs Kirwan.
So now I have a topic and now I need to research more about wither or not Alexander was really 'Great' in what he did or was it just a title he owned because of what he did for Greece?
